Life Reflecting Art

Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, I got a Classic Disney CD featuring Hayley Mills singing a song about Femininity from a film called "Summer Magic." It was so charming, so politically incorrect, that I had to put it on many a compilation CD and share it with everyone I knew! I like to tease people by saying that "I learned everything I know about being a lady from this song." Heehee.

Well, for my birthday I got the movie of "Summer Magic", and I sat down with my parents to watch it. I had no idea how timely it would be. The story follows a family that has moved from the city to a small town in Maine! They spend their time and money fixing up a run down house! There is wildlife! The locals mumble (teehee!) One character is named Digby (well, there's a town in NS called Digby.) Hayley Mills even quotes a line from "Evangeline" (I was so impressed that I knew what it was from! haha!) At any rate, it was awfully fitting, although Ms. Mills was (as usual) very Saccharine Positive about the whole ordeal. It's a very sweet movie, if you can get past some of the ... er... inappropriate comments :P

At any rate, here is the video of the "Femininity" song! Enjoy, and remember...
"Utilize your femininity! That's what every girl should know, if she wants to catch a beau!"

Love,
Gillian
