Songs(!) of the Month for December (and a little silliness)

Here's the best news ever... I LEAVE FOR NOVA SCOTIA TONIGHT! HOORAY!!! And my flight hasn't been canceled (yet)!!!

Oooh folks, it was a tough call for the song of the month. I simply can't decide, so I thought since it's Christmas, maybe I can be a little more generous and give you my top 3:

"What Are You Doing New Years'?" - Ella Fitzgerald
I walk around my apartment singing this all day long, and if I do say so myself, I do a pretty stellar version of it.

O Holy NIGHT, Batman, has it been a cold December or what? This makes "Baby, It's Cold Outside" another obvious choice. It's also a good excuse to get out of Christmas parties: "You should come to the party tonight!" "but baby, it's cold outside!"

The tricky thing is what version?!

I simply LOVE Zooey Deschanel's musical phrasing in this version:

Similarly, I love James Taylor's note choices in this version, although Natalie Cole drives me a little nuts.

For my last choice, you already know my feeling on Waltzes. It has to be Nancy Wilson's version of "The Christmas Waltz." Lovely :) Unfortunately some schmuck has disabled embedding on that particular version, so you're stuck with the Kristin Chenoweth version. She's so freaking adorable in "Pushing Daisies", so it's okay.

Now for the silliness... my parents taped little Tess's first romp in the snow! SO CUTE!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Love,
Gillian

For some reason I thought you were flying today!! Thank goodness you're there already, I was worried you wouldn't be able to get into the Halifax airport today.

Hope you're having a GREAT time! Merry Christmas!!
